The Kahlenberger Hockey and Tennis Club from Mülheim an der Ruhr was founded in 1953 as Kahlenberger HC and emerged from the hockey department of the Mülheim tennis club on Kahlenberg , which was founded in October 1940 . The KHTC, competing in blue jerseys and white shorts, is one of two hockey clubs in Mülheim , along with HTC Uhlenhorst . The club with 700 members chose its current name after the tennis department was founded on January 27, 1968.

The KHTC sports facilities were built on Mintarder Strasse in Saarn between 1965 and 1969, and have been expanded over the years. Today the park-like facility includes 18 tennis courts, a four-court indoor tennis court, an artificial turf hockey field, a grass sports field and a spacious clubhouse on almost 5 hectares. In addition to tennis and hockey, there has also been a water sports department since 2002 that offers dragon boat sports and canoeing.
