Soccer

The football department was founded in 1910. Eleven years later, the club started playing in the South German Football Association . As part of the clean divorce , the footballers split off in 1924 together with the handball and athletics departments as the Eintracht Mannheim sports association . When the German Gymnastics Association decided to hold its own football championship, the Eintracht sports association rejoined TV 1846 Mannheim. In 1927 the Mannheimers became German runners-up after a 6-0 defeat in the final against TV 1861 Forst . Two years later , the TV footballers were able to prevail after a 5-4 final victory against ATG Gera and secure the German championship title.

In 1930, the Mannheim team returned to the DFB's game operations , but could no longer build on their successes of the 1920s. The division reached its sporting low point in the 1994/95 season, when the team was bottom of the table in the district league B and only because of this was not relegated because there was no longer any league under it. In 2004 the soccer department was dissolved.
