Alexander Taubert (born February 11, 1969 in Mannheim ) is a former German triathlete . He is winner of the long distance (1995, 1996), German champion triathlon long distance (2005) and is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .
Career
Alexander Taubert started his first triathlon in Koblenz in 1986.
In 1991 he took part for the first time in Roth in a long-distance competition (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).
In 1991, 1992 and 1993 he won his age group (18-24 years) at the Ironman Hawaii . In 1995 and 1996 he was also able to win the “Euroman” in Zurich, the previous event of Ironman Switzerland .
In 2002 he became the first triathlete in Mannheim to be athlete of the year .
He competed sixteen times in a row at the Ironman Hawaii between 1991 and 2006, his greatest success being fourth in 2004 - after his thigh muscle above the knee was severed in a serious cycling accident just four months earlier.

In July 2005, he became the German long-distance champion at the Challenge Roth .
Since November 2010 he has been the head coach of the "Soprema Team TSV Mannheim". Alex Taubert lives in Mannheim.
