Nils Frommhold (born September 17, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German triathlete , Ironman winner (2012, 2014) and German champion in the long distance triathlon (2015). He is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance . (As of May 26, 2019)

Nils Frommhold was active in swimming in his youth.

German champion triathlon U23

In 2009 he became German triathlon champion U23. He starts for the Triathlon Potsdam and Stadtwerke Team Witten clubs and in 2012 he was a member of the S-squad of the German Triathlon Union . In France, Nils Frommhold competes in the Grand Prix de Triathlon for the Metz Triathlon club .

Ironman distance winner 2012

In November 2012, he won the gold medal at the Ironman in Tempe, Arizona at his first start on the long distance (3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

In April 2014 he won the Ironman South Africa . This enabled him to qualify for a starting place at the Ironman Hawaii , where he finished sixth as the third fastest German on his Hawaiian debut in October.

German champion triathlon long distance 2015

In July 2015 he won the Challenge Roth, where he had already finished second in the previous year and thus became German champion in the long-distance triathlon. With his winning time of 7:51:28 h, he set the seventh fastest time ever achieved on the long distance.
On July 31, it was announced that Nils Frommhold, the fifth man in the Kona Points Ranking System, would receive a pro starting place for the second time at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii in October. The 50 highest-placed professional triathletes who collect the most points with their placements in Ironman competitions worldwide between August 31 and July 31 of the following year are each qualified for the Ironman Hawaii. He was ranked 52nd in Hawaii in 2015.

In June 2017, the 30-year-old came third at the Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Denmark.
