Mont-Tremblant is a town and a well-known ski resort in the Canadian province of Québec ( regional county town of Les Laurentides in the Laurentides administrative region ). In the other seasons of the year, it is equally popular as a recreational area with Americans and Canadians.
The town of Mont-Tremblant itself, the center of the ski area, consists partly of colorful wooden houses in a historical style, partly of hotel complexes reminiscent of Disneyland .
The city can be reached via Route 117 in the province of Québec , a section of the Trans-Canada Highway .
geography
Mont-Tremblant is located in the Laurentine Mountains at the foot of Mont Tremblant (968 m), about 130 km northwest of Montreal and 140 km northeast of Ottawa . The Rivière du Diable flows through the city and flows seven kilometers south into the Rivière Rouge . To the north of the city is the Parc national du Mont-Tremblant , the oldest and largest national park in the province of Québec (1510 km²).
Sports
- About 14 km north of the city is the Circuit Mont-Tremblant , a 4.265 km long automobile race track, on which Formula 1 races were held (1968 and 1970).
- The Ironman Mont-Tremblant has been held annually since 2012 and took place for the sixth time on August 20, 2017.

Town twinning
The city has been on friendly terms with the French winter sports resort Châtel in the Haute-Savoie department since 1990 .
