Laurentides is an administrative region ( French région administrative ) in the southwest of the Canadian province of Québec .
It is further divided into eight regional county municipalities (municipalités régionales de comté) and 88 municipalities, reserves and unincorporated areas. The administrative seat is in Saint-Jérôme .
The population is 555,614, the land area 20,559.9 km², which corresponds to a population density of 27.0 inhabitants per km² (2011). 95.4% of the population speak French and 4.0% English as their main language.
In the west Laurentides borders on the administrative region Outaouais , in the north on Mauricie , in the east on Lanaudière , in the south-east on Laval , in the south on Montreal and Montérégie , in the south-west on the province of Ontario .
