Argenteuil is a regional county municipality ( French municipalité régionale de comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .

It lies in the administrative region of Laurentides and consists of nine subordinate administrative units (two cities, three cantonal municipalities, three municipalities and a village). The MRC was founded on January 1, 1983. The main town is Lachute . The population is 30,806 and the area is 1236.3 km², which corresponds to a population density of 24.9 inhabitants per km².
