Lachute is a city in the Laurentides region of the province of Québec with 11,832 inhabitants. It is located about 75 kilometers northwest of Montreal on the Rivière du Nord and is the capital of the regional county town of Argenteuil .
In the south runs the Autoroute 50 of the state of Quebec. A small regional airport - Lachute Airport - is located southwest of the city. Montreal-Mirabel International Airport is approximately 25 km to the east . The city's train station is listed as a cultural monument on Canada's Historic Places .
