Pierre Pagé
Pierre Pagé Gilbert (* thirtieth April 1948 , in Quebec City , Canada ) is a Canadian ice hockey - coach .
Career
Pagé began his career as an ice hockey coach in 1971 as an assistant at Dalhousie University in Halifax , Canada. In 1973 he became the head coach of the university team and held the post until 1980. It was followed by two seasons as assistant coach of the Calgary Flames in the NHL . The Flames sent Pagé as head coach to their partner team in the CHL , the Colorado Flames . From there it went on to another Calgary Flames offshoot, the Moncton Golden Flames in the AHL . In 1985 , Pagé made permanent entry into the NHL, only as assistant coach of the Calgary Flames, with whom he was able to advance to the Stanley Cup final in 1986 . He was then chief of the gang at the Minnesota North Stars , the Québec Nordiques , the Calgary Flames and finally the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . Including his assistantship, Pagé can look back on a total of 13 NHL seasons.
The change to European ice hockey brought the position as a coach at the Swiss national league club HC Ambrì-Piotta in 2000 . The manager of the Eisbären Berlin , Peter-John Lee , who knew Pagé from his time at the Calgary Flames, brought him to the German DEL in 2002 and signed him to the Eisbären, where Pagé inherited Uli Egen . In 2004 he was able to move into the play-off finals with the polar bears , and in 2005 and 2006 he celebrated winning the German championship with them .
At the end of the 2006/07 season, Pagé left the Eisbären Berlin. From the 2007/08 season he was head coach at EC Red Bull Salzburg , where he won the championship title in 2008, 2010 and 2011. In May 2013 he moved to EHC Red Bull Munich as head coach . After the 2013/14 season he became “the superordinate sports director of the ice hockey project of the Austrian shower manufacturer and is responsible for the Munich club as well as for the EC Red Bull Salzburg and the entire youth department”.
International
At the 1980 Winter Olympics , he was appointed guest coach of the Canadian national ice hockey team, which was able to occupy sixth place. The following year he was assistant coach for Team Canada at the 1981 Canada Cup .
