The season 2000/01 was the 63rd regular season of National League A . The ZSC Lions became Swiss champions in the play-off final against HC Lugano . In the National League B , the HC Lausanne was 'B-Champion' and made it to the top division against the NLA playout loser HC La Chaux-de-Fonds .

mode

The 12 teams played 2 double rounds of 22 games each. Then the best eight teams determined the Swiss champions in play-off style. Quarter-finals , semi-finals and the final were each played according to the best-of-seven mode.

The other four teams determined in the playouts the team that had to play against the champions of National League B to stay in the league.

Lausanne HC had to compete in the Vernets Hall in Geneva because the Malley was occupied because of the Curling World Cup. The Lausanne sat still with 4: 2 by and got into the National League A in which HC La Chaux-de-Fonds had meanwhile the aisle in the National League B compete.
