The 1954/55 season was the 17th regular staging of the National League A , the highest Swiss league in ice hockey . For the fifth time in the club's history, the EHC Arosa became Swiss champions, while the EHC St. Moritz was relegated to the NLB.

As in the previous year, the league was played in a common main round. Each of the eight teams played back and forth against each group opponent, making the total number of games per team 14. The first in the table became Swiss champions, while the bottom of the table had to compete against the best second division team in the relegation to avoid relegation. Each team received two points for a win and one point for a tie. If you lost, you didn't get any points.

Relegation

Last year's climber EHC St. Moritz, who had no chance in the main round and lost all of their 14 games and had a goal difference of -108, met the best second division club HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and was clearly defeated by 1:10, which the EHC St. Moritz relegated to the NLB and the HC La Chaux-de-Fonds took its place in the NLA.
