Jay Feaster

Jay Feaster (born July 30, 1962 in Williamstown , Pennsylvania ) is an American ice hockey official .

Career

Feaster graduated from Susquehanna University and the Georgetown Law Center in Washington, DC before practicing as a lawyer in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania . Subsequently, the US-American initially worked for Hershey Entertainment and in 1990 was appointed General Manager of the Hershey Bears from the American Hockey League and Hersheypark Arena . During his time in Hershey, the team won the 1997 AHL championship, the Calder Cup . On February 10, 2002, the Tampa Bay Lightning hired him from the National Hockey League as general manager, after he had previously worked as an assistant for three years. In this role Feaster was responsible for contractual, collective bargaining, legal issues as well as the organization of the scouting department and the farm teams . Feaster held the position of General Manager in Florida until 2008. During this time, the Stanley Cup was won in the 2003/04 season .

Feaster was named Assistant General Manager of the Calgary Flames in July 2010 . After his supervisor, Darryl Sutter , resigned from the position of general manager, he was promoted to general manager of the Calgary Flames in May 2011. In December 2013, he and his assistant John Weisbrod were removed from office.
