history

The Colorado Flames started playing in the Central Hockey League for the 1982/83 season . The team was named after the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League , whose farm team it was. In their only two seasons they finished under the Canadian coach Pierre Pagé, the second and finally the first place after the regular season. In the playoffs for the Adams Cup they failed in their premiere season in the first round to the Birmingham South Stars , which they defeated in the best-of-seven series with 2: 4 wins.
