The Wichita Wind were an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League based in Wichita , Kansas .
history
The Wichita Wind took up the 1980/81 season in the Central Hockey League , in which they were the new farm team of the Edmonton Oilers from the National Hockey League . In their debut season they immediately reached the final of the playoffs for the Adams Cup . In this they were defeated by the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the best-of-seven series with 3: 4 wins. After a second round in the following season , they finished sixth and last place of the regular season in the 1982/83 season and thus missed the playoffs. The team then stopped playing.
