The Houston Apollos were an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League based in Houston , Texas .

history

The Omaha Knights from the Central Professional Hockey League went inactive in 1965 and their CPHL license was awarded to Houston, Texas, where the franchise then played under the name Houston Apollos. The Texans began playing in the Central Professional Hockey League for the 1965/66 season . The team never got past the first round of the Adams Cup playoffs in their first four seasons . Then the team initially set the game and was replaced from 1972 to 1978 by the Houston Eros from the World Hockey Association .

A year after the dissolution of the Houston Eros it was decided to reactivate the Houston Apollos, but for financial reasons the team had to stop playing after not even half of their second season after their return to the CHL on January 4, 1981.
