The St. Louis Braves were an American ice hockey franchise of the Central Hockey League based in St. Louis , Missouri .

history

The Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds of the Eastern Professional Hockey League were relocated to Syracuse, New York, in 1962 and changed their name to Syracuse Braves. During their premiere season , the Braves were relocated again on January 1, 1963, this time to St. Louis, Missouri. At the end of the season, the EPHL was dissolved and the St. Louis Braves took up the game in the 1963/64 season in the newly founded Central Professional Hockey League , in which they were the new farm team of the Chicago Black Hawks from the National Hockey League . In the four years of its existence, the team never got past the first round of the playoffs for the Adams Cup .

For the 1967/68 season , the St. Louis Braves were relocated to Dallas , Texas , and continued the game under the name Dallas Black Hawks in the Central Professional Hockey League.
