The 1980/81 season was the 18th regular season of the Central Hockey League . The nine teams should complete 80 games each in the regular season, but the Birmingham Bulls and Houston Apollos withdrew their team from play during the season, after which the schedule had to be changed. The Central Hockey League was played in a division . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Dallas Black Hawks , while the Salt Lake Golden Eagles prevailed in the final games of the Adams Cup .
