Center-du-Québec is an administrative region ( French région administrative ) in the south of the Canadian province of Québec . It is further divided into five regional county municipalities ( French municipalités régionales de comté ) and 82 municipalities and reserves. The administrative seat is in Drummondville .

The population is 233,509 (2011), the land area is 6920.9 km², which corresponds to a population density of 33.7 inhabitants per km². 99.5% of the population speak French and 0.3% English as their main language.

In the east, Center-du-Québec borders on the administrative region of Chaudière-Appalaches , in the south-east on Estrie , in the south on Montérégie , in the west on Lanaudière , in the north on Mauricie and Capitale-Nationale .
