Vincent Fred Pontare (born May 13, 1980 in Solna ) is a Swedish singer , producer and songwriter . Musically, he is primarily active in the areas of pop , soul and EDM music. He is active as a writer and singer together with Salem Al Fakir as Vargas & Lagola . His father is the Swedish musician Roger Pontare .

Career

As a solo artist

Miss Blue is Pontare's first release in Germany. It was released in 2007. In Sweden he reached the top ten of the Swedish singles charts and stayed there for three months. The track also achieved a single chart placement in Germany. The video for Miss Blue was shot in Los Angeles with the assistance of Danish model Anine Bing. In his home country Miss Blue was the third release from his debut album Lucky Thirteen , which earned him several nominations for the Swedish Grammy, among other things. Before that, the songs Paradise and Don't Hate on Me (also top ten in Sweden) were released as single. Lucky Thirteen achieved gold status in Sweden . The last release This Is For You was able to move up into the top 100 in Germany.

In 2011 Pontare released his second studio album, Godspeed . Baby Hurricane was released a year earlier . The tracks The Moment I Met You and Put Your Money Where Your Money Is were also released as single releases.

After being active as a songwriter with the Swedish musician Salem Al Fakir for several years , they founded the Vargas & Lagola project together in 2017. Together they released several singles, including a collaboration with the Swedish DJ and producer Avicii . They appear in elaborate Indian-like costumes. This took place for the first time in 2015 during Axwell Λ Ingrosso's appearance at the Coachella Festival 2015

He is under contract with Little Stereo Recordings / Warner Music Sweden .

As a songwriter

In 2007 he produced the single Teardrops and the album Destiny for No Angels and contributed vocals to Marie Fredriksson's Ingenkommer undan politiken . He was also featured in Danny's top three hit, If Only You, in 2007 . He wrote for Amanda Jenssen the following year.

In 2012 he wrote two songs for Agnes Carlsson's album Veritas . He acted as a songwriter and composer for the entire Veronica Maggio album Handen i fickan almost jag bryr mig and Petter album Början på allt . On both studio albums, Pontare worked with the also Swedish musician Salem Al Fakir .

From then on, Al Fakir and Pontare developed into a solid duo. For Avicii's debut album True , they controlled the two songs Hey Brother and You Make Me , Al Fakir also sang the latter. Katy Perry had her Prism song Love Me written by Pontare.

In 2014 the two Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso founded the Axwell Λ Ingrosso project , of which Al Fakir and Pontare became an integral part. You acted here not only as a songwriter, but also as a singer. The debut single Something New was already a huge success in the EDM scene. In 2015 they also appeared for the first time as with the leaders Axwell and Ingrosso, which is where Vargas & Lagola originated .

Also in 2015 they were part of the team behind Madonna's studio album Rebel Heart and Galantis ' Call If You Need Me . At the same time, they also worked outside of dance and EDM music with musicians such as Miike Snow and Seinabo Sey .
