Jenny Amanda Katarina Jenssen (born Bengtsson; born September 12, 1988 in Lund ) is a Swedish singer who became famous for the Swedish version of the talent show " Idol ".

biography

In the final of the show on December 7, 2007, she was defeated by Marie Picasso with 48.7% of the vote . And yet Amanda signed a record deal on January 3, 2008, her first single "Do You Love Me" was released on January 23, 2008. The second single "Amarula Tree" (written by her and Pär Wiksten) was released on April 16, 2008 . Their debut album "Killing My Darlings" came out on May 7th, 2008 - a tour for the summer has been announced.

Some of the songs on the album were written by Marit Bergman and Vincent Pontare , but the rest were written by herself. Amanda wrote her songs without going in any particular direction or genre. Her musical influences are Elvis Presley and her own father. In addition to pursuing her own solo career, she was the singer of the band "Oh Hollie Neverdays", with the cover band "Amanda and the Papas" she played classics. Amanda also worked with musicians like Daniel Miller from the band Wild Bleeding Heart and Elina Nelson, another former participant on the Swedish idol show.

Jenssen made her first appearance in Germany in the soap opera Gute Zeiten, Schlechter Zeiten , where she appeared in the fictional club Masonry alongside other performers such as Unheilig and Nena .

In November 2012 the third album "Hymns for the Haunted" was released.

On July 1, 2014 she played in the opening act for the Rolling Stones in Stockholm.

In autumn 2014 Jenssen took part in the fifth season of Så mycket bättre (Sing my song - the swap concert).
