Epic Records is an American music label . The most famous artists who are or have been under contract with Epic include Fifth Harmony , Camila Cabello , Judas Priest , Rage Against the Machine , The Jacksons , Michael Jackson , Mariah Carey , Bethany Joy Lenz , Anastacia , Tori Amos , Fiona Apple , Future , Avril Lavigne , Good Charlotte , Tenacious D , Shakira and The Nightwatchman .

history

Epic was founded in 1953 by the American television giant and media network CBS . It first became known in the fields of jazz and classical music , among other things, Epic released the Berliner Philharmoniker and from 1955 to 1961 recordings by the Count Basie Orchestra , The Duke's Men and by Moondog , Chu Berry , Ruby Braff , Ray Bryant , Joe Carroll , Curtis Fuller , Johnny Hodges , Horace Silver , Phil Woods and Lester Young .
