Band history
The band was put together in the casting show The X Factor from five individual applicants. They made it to the finals and eventually finished 3rd. After the competition, Fifth Harmony signed with Epic Records . The first single, Miss Movin 'On , made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number four on the Heatseeker charts. This was followed by the EP Better Together with five songs, which were released in different versions: as a studio version, as an acoustic and as a remix version and as a Spanish-language edition with the title Juntos as a studio and an acoustic version. The English studio version reached number six on the official Billboard 200 and the Juntos EP came in at number 2 in the Latin charts.
In 2014, the group began work on their first studio album, Reflection , which was released on February 3, 2015 and reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and a gold record . The two singles Bo $$ and Sledgehammer made it onto the Billboard Hot 100. The third single from the album Worth It , which was created in collaboration with the American rapper Kid Ink , reached chart positions worldwide and is the first song by the group to be placed in the German, Austrian and Swiss single charts. In Germany the single was awarded a gold record, in the United States Fifth Harmony received triple platinum. In early 2015, the band went on tour. The Reflection Tour consisted of 69 concerts, six of which were played in Europe, including one in Frankfurt . In September 2015, Fifth Harmony released the single I'm in Love with a Monster , which was recorded for the film Hotel Transylvania 2 .
In May 2016, the second studio album 7/27 was released . The lead single Work from Home was released on February 26, 2016 and reached the top 10 in several countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and the United States, making this single her most successful to date. On May 31, 2016, the second single All in My Head (Flex) was released, which was created in collaboration with the US rapper Fetty Wap . The song reached the top 25 in the United Kingdom and the United States. In December 2016, the group announced that Camila Cabello was leaving the group at her own request. The third album, Fifth Harmony , which was released in August 2017, peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200. The pre-released single Down with Gucci Mane became a chart success and won the award for Best Pop Video at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards . Neither the second single He Like That with rapper French Montana as a guest nor the other releases such as Deliver and Angel could place in the charts.
In March 2018, the band announced that they would take a break and devote themselves to their respective solo careers. Outstanding performances were carried out until the end of 2018.
