Fetty Wap
Fetty Wap (born June 7, 1991 in Paterson , New Jersey ; actually: Willie Maxwell II ) is an American rapper .
biography
Fetty Wap comes from the city of Paterson in the state of New Jersey . In childhood, glaucoma caused him to lose his left eye. His grandfather was a hometown preacher at Solomon's Temple Church, and as a child, Fetty Wap was part of a group of four who sang in church. He also learned drums and piano .
He started his hip-hop career in a band called Remy Boyz with Monty (Montana Bucks), Khaos and P. Dice. His rapper name consists of two slang words for money. In 2014, the group released the joint mixtape 1738 . At the same time, Fetty Wap also put several of their own songs such as Addicted , Zoovier and Trap Queen online. The latter turned out to be very successful and was accessed over a million times on SoundCloud just by being distributed on the Internet. The song later reached over 100 million views and the official video even over 670 million views. He got a record deal with the 300 Entertainment label and released the song as a single. Remixes of French Montana and Fabolous , among other things , made the song a number 2 hit on both the R&B charts and the official Billboard Hot 100 . It stayed in the sales charts for a whole year and sold over a million times. Trap Queen was also quite successful internationally , with 8th place in Great Britain and Denmark being the highest placements. At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards , Fetty Wap was named Artist to Watch . At the Grammy Awards 2016 he was nominated twice for the song.
In mid-2015, the singles 679 and My Way followed , in which members of the Remy Boyz were also involved. Both songs reached the top 10 again in the USA. In September 2015, the debut album followed with his name as a title, in which the Remy Boyz were also exclusively involved as guest musicians. It rose to number one on the US album charts .
At the end of the year he was a guest on Bang My Head by David Guetta and Sia , which became an international hit.
In May 2019 he gave three concerts in Germany (Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart).
