Baauer (born April 30, 1989 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ; actually Harry Bauer Rodrigues ) is an American musician in the field of trap and bass music.

Career

Rodrigues is from Brooklyn. He started producing music at the age of 13, mostly electro, trap and house music. Among other things, he used the stage name Captain Harry for his productions . He produced remixes for Nero , The Prodigy , Flosstradamus and No Doubt .

In May 2012 he released the single Harlem Shake , which triggered an Internet hype on the video platform YouTube in February 2013 and generated numerous fan-produced versions of the song. The single then reached number 1 on the American iTunes charts and number 2 on the British iTunes charts.
