IFPI Switzerland is the branch association of music labels in Switzerland and the Swiss national group of IFPI .

tasks

The members of IFPI Switzerland include both major labels and independent companies and make up around 90% of the Swiss music market. The association's president is Ivo Sacchi from Universal Music Switzerland, and the lawyer Lorenz Haas has been the managing director since 2012. The association sits down u. a. for the protection of intellectual property and the development of national and international copyright and neighboring right one, is instrumental in the event of the annual Swiss Music Awards involved, the phono producers represented in the Swissperform , the official's Swiss chart in order and makes recommendations regarding the award of gold and platinum awards , which is organized by the music labels themselves.

Limits to the award of phonograms

From 1989 to 2005 IFPI Switzerland awarded gold and platinum awards for albums and singles with the same award limits. On January 1, 2006, albums were devalued and since then need fewer units sold to reach the respective distribution level. Since 2007, records with a French or Italian repertoire have been given special awards. Since 2017, gold and platinum awards for albums and singles have been subject to the same limits.
