International Survey of Herbicide Resistant Weeds

International Survey of Herbicide Resistant Weeds , English for International Investigation of herbicide-resistant weeds , is a collaborative project of scientists from over 80 countries to the development of herbicide-resistant weeds to capture. The project was initiated by the Weed Science Society of America and is being continued by Ian Heap. The project is funded by the Global Herbicide Resistance Action Committee and CropLife International .

By mid-2014, the project's database had recorded 432 different types of resistance. Of these 432 types, 145 are found in the United States . The more severely affected countries also include Australia and Canada. A total of 65 countries with problems were recorded. This affects 22 of a total of around 28 known active substances / mechanisms of action that are the basis of over 150 different approved herbicides. They occur in the fields of 82 species of crops.
