IFPI Chile

IFPI Chile is an offshoot of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry in the Republic of Chile and represents the Chilean music industry . The organization controls sales of albums and singles sold in the country, awards music awards and reviews music licenses.

Limits to the award of phonograms

As of 2007, the award limits for music awards for all editions are 7,500 records sold for a gold record and 15,000 units sold for a platinum award. From 30,000, 45,000, etc., double, triple, etc. correspond to platinum. In 2010 the award limits were downgraded, since then gold has been awarded from 5,000 records sold, platinum from 10,000 etc. In addition, a diamond record was introduced for the limit of 100,000 units.
