Uptown Funk (stylized: UpTown Funk! ) Is a song written by British record producer Mark Ronson for his fourth album, UpTown Special. has been recorded. The singing comes from Bruno Mars . Sony Music Entertainment released the piece as the first single on the album on November 10, 2014. Jeff Bhasker assisted the artists in producing and writing the piece. Philip Lawrence also worked on Uptown Funk. The song was the fourth collaboration between Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson after Locked Out of Heaven , Moonshine and Gorilla . According to the music awards, Uptown Funk has sold nearly 13 million copies.
Music video
Uptown Funk's music video was released on November 17, 2014. On November 19th the video appeared on Vevo and YouTube . Directed by Bruno Mars and Cameron Duddy.
Fleur East attracted special attention with her performance of the song in late 2014 as part of the semi-finals of the 11th season of The X Factor , as the song had not yet been released in the UK at the time.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on the Ellen Show, Ronson and Mars stated that the video was shot in different cities where Mars has performed. Some parts were also recorded by 20th Century Fox New York Street Backlot in Los Angeles.
The choreography of the associated video inspired several flash mobs , including in front of the Sydney Opera House , or a demonstration by Cast and Crew of The Big Bang Theory .
Commercial win
Uptown Funk was a huge success worldwide. In the United States , where most of the records were sold, the song was # 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 for 14 consecutive weeks . In the United Kingdom , the song stayed at number 1 on the British music charts for seven weeks . Uptown Funk was also able to achieve high chart positions in German-speaking countries . Further number-one placements were achieved in Australia , Belgium , France , Ireland , Canada , New Zealand and Spain . With Uptown Funk , Ronson won the 2015 Brit Awards in the British Single of the Year category .
