Teen Choice Award
The Teen Choice Award is an American film , music and television award . It was created in 1999 to honor what the young generation considered best achievements in the popular media of the year and to honor artists. Previously, twelve to 21-year-old teenagers are allowed to vote for their favorite nominees using a voting process. At the beginning, the award was presented by Seventeen , a fashion and lifestyle magazine for girls and young women. Teen People magazine has been doing this job since 2003 . Similar to the Oscar awards , the nominations are divided into numerous categories. The prize is given in the form of surfboards to visually present the event as a summer event.
The transmission rights for US television are owned by Fox . In Canada , the award ceremony can be seen on Global TV . Since the seventh award (2006), the format has been changed to a live broadcast.
