With her dazzling lifestyle and her provocative appearances, Paris Hilton deliberately attracts media interest and uses this circumstance for successful self-marketing. In 2005 she was named " It Girl of the Year" by the music broadcaster VH1 .

Private life

Paris Hilton is the eldest daughter of Richard Hilton and Kathy Richards-Hilton . She has a younger sister named Nicholai "Nicky" Hilton and two younger brothers, Barron and Conrad Hilton.

Hilton spent her school days at Canterbury School in Connecticut , Buckley School in Sherman Oaks , California , and most recently at Dwight School in New York , where she was a cheerleader . She left school at the age of 17. She started working as a model three years later. In addition to working as a model, Hilton appeared in a few lesser-known films as a supporting actress.

In 2000 she had her first success when she was photographed for GQ and FHM magazines . In 2003, Paris Hilton starred in the series The Simple Life produced by the US television network FOX , in which she met her friend Nicole Richie and got to know rural life on a farm in Altus , Arkansas . The initially bad ratings improved after a private sex tape of her surfaced in public. Her ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon had released the film as VHS video and DVD under the title 1 Night in Paris . In 2005 the film won three AVN Awards , including a. as best-selling and best-rented sex tape, excellent. Paris Hilton sued Salomon and was subsequently awarded $ 400,000 in compensation and a share of the proceeds. After the fifth season (Goes to Camp) , The Simple Life was canceled.

Paris Hilton published a book in 2004 called Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose . It was in the top ten of the New York Times bestseller list for weeks . In 2005 she got her first major film role after a few minor supporting roles, in the horror film House of Wax .

Police photo of Paris Hilton (2007)

In September 2006, Paris Hilton was stripped of his license for drunk driving. In late February 2007, Hilton was stopped again by police for driving at night with no lights. The officers found that she was behind the wheel without a valid driver's license, violating her probation requirements. On May 4, 2007, a California court sentenced her to 45 days in prison at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood . The court found Hilton's excuse that her spokesman, Elliott Mintz, misinformed her about the parole, as irrelevant. The hotel heiress had justified her repeated driving without a license in court by saying that Mintz had told her several times that her driver's license had only been revoked for one month and that she could continue to drive "for professional purposes". She had to start her sentence on June 5, 2007, otherwise it would have doubled to 90 days. Elliott Mintz was sacked by Paris Hilton that same day. Hilton's attorney appealed immediately after the verdict was pronounced. Paris Hilton tried with letters to various politicians , including the California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger , to have the verdict reviewed. Her efforts appear to have had an impact, and on May 17, 2007, her sentence was reduced to 23 days. The prison authorities gave Hilton credit for showing up on time for the last court hearing.

In the early morning of June 7, 2007, after three days of imprisonment, she was finally released from Lynwood Women's Prison, California, and placed under house arrest after her attorney and later her psychiatrist visited her in prison. The authorities justified the release with "medical reasons".

On the morning of June 8, Hilton was summoned to court again. Judge Michael T. Sauer stated there that the release into house arrest was not permitted and that Hilton had to spend her full sentence in prison. Hilton was then brought back to prison crying and screaming from the courtroom. On the night of June 25th to June 26th, 2007, she was released from prison for good conduct.

From May 2008, her reality show My new BFF (= "best friend forever") was filmed in Los Angeles. Hilton found a new best friend through this show. Because of the great interest and the high number of viewers in the USA, Hilton then shot a British version and a Dubai version of her show.

In October 2009 she appeared in the American mystery series Supernatural . In it she plays a pagan deity who takes the form of the hotel heiress.

On August 28, 2010, cocaine was found at Hilton during a vehicle inspection in Las Vegas , leading to her arrest for drug possession . The next morning she was released without bail and in the fall of that year to a year on probation, 200 hours of community service and a fine of 2,000 US dollars condemned.

From February 2017 she was in a relationship with the American actor Chris Zylka and engaged to him from January to November 2018.

Since January 2020 she has been officially dating the American entrepreneur Carter Milliken Reum.

Paris Hilton company

Despite her flaunted party life, Hilton is also active as a businesswoman in a wide variety of areas. The cornerstone was laid by a fashion label in Japan that she founded with sister Nicky to sell exclusive bags. The business expanded to include accessories, clothing, jewelry and perfumes.

In 2005, Hilton also gave its name to a planned chain of nightclubs under the name "Club Paris". The first club in Orlando , Florida was followed by a second club in Jacksonville , Florida, which opened in July 2006. Other locations (including Las Vegas) were to follow initially, but Hilton was terminated by Club Paris owner Fred Khalilian in January 2007 after allegedly not showing up often enough with celebrities at the club, and the clubs were closed again.
