Paris is the first album by It-Girls Paris Hilton . It was released in the United States on August 22, 2006 through Hiltons record label Heiress Records after Hilton terminated her direct record deal with Warner Brothers and founded her own record label Heiress Records as a sub-label of Warner Brothers. The entire album was previously available for download from AOL Music on August 13, 2006. The album is a mix of pop, hip-hop, dance, reggae and rock.
background
For the production of the album, Hilton engaged Greg Wells, Kara DioGuardi , Jane Wiedlin and Scott Storch, among others . She worked with Fat Joe and Jadakiss on the song Fightin 'over Me . In 2004 the planned release of the single Screwed was canceled after unsuccessful test runs in clubs in Miami . The first single Stars Are Blind was produced by Fernando Garibay and appeared as a download on June 20, 2006. As further singles, the titles Turn It Up and Nothing in This World and Screwed were released. In June 2007, a lawsuit for 370,000 euros was brought before the London High Court against Hiltons former record company for alleged copyright infringement. Hilton and her record company were accused of having illegally covered the UB40 classic " Kingston Town ". In early June 2007, Warner Brothers' contract with Hilton was terminated due to disappointing sales.
