biography

Ilan Fernández was born to a Jewish father who emigrated to Cali , Colombia in 1969 . He was a drug dealer and gang leader in Cali at the age of 13 and smuggled two kilos of cocaine into the United States for the first time when he was 15 . In the same year he also committed his first murder. At 17 he expanded his business to Spain and at 19 dominated large parts of the cocaine market in Europe. He acted unscrupulous and extremely brutal. In his autobiography, he admits multiple murders and tortures. According to his own statements, he controlled the European cocaine market from 1987 to 1989. In 1989 he was arrested in Barcelona and sentenced to 9 years in prison for drug and weapons smuggling, which he served in Spain and San Quentin (USA).

Feeling remorse and in order to let his feelings run free, he had started to write slogans and words with felt-tip pens on T-shirts. Since his release from prison, he has done his best to translate his ideas and thoughts into the product. This is how the De Puta Madre 69 label was created and caused a sensation. It is primarily aimed at young people, but is also worn by celebrities like Maurizio Verbeni and the Fugees . De Puta Madre is a Latin American expletive expression and means something like: "awesome" or "shit good".

Fernández is now at large and lives with his family in Rome, Italy. He is married and has three children.

In 2009 he wrote his autobiography with the Italian author Giulio Laurenti under the title Suerte , which was published in 2010 in both the Italian original and the German translation by Riemann Verlag.

According to several Spanish daily newspapers, Steven Spielberg expressed an interest in filming his career in 2007. The film plans were not implemented. According to other sources, his life was to be filmed by Gabriele Muccino with Javier Bardem in the lead role.
