Scott Spencer Storch (born December 16, 1973 in Halifax (Nova Scotia) ) is an American keyboardist , songwriter and producer , who became known as a member of the group The Roots .

biography

Storch grew up as one of three children in a Jewish family.

In the mid 90s he was introduced by Dr. Dre discovered and signed for his label Aftermath Records . From then on, Storch participated as a co-producer and keyboard player in a variety of different hip-hop productions, including albums by Snoop Dogg , Eve and Busta Rhymes . In 2002 he first became known to a larger audience; as producer of Christina Aguilera's singles Fighter and Can't Hold Us Down or P! nks Family Portrait .

The well-known hip-hop producer Timbaland alluded disparagingly to Storch when he referred to him as "piano man" in the song Give It to Me . Storch countered with the Disstrack Built Like Dat (with NOX). On this track he alluded to Timbaland's alleged use of anabolic steroids . However, Timbaland and Scott Storch ended the argument in early 2008 after Timbaland visited him at his home.
