Twista (2010)

Twista (born November 27, 1973 in Chicago , Illinois ; actually Carl Terrell Mitchell ) is an American rapper .

Career

Twista started his career in 1990 as one of the first artists on the Loud Records record company . At that time known under the pseudonym Tung Twista , he released his debut album Runnin 'Off at da Mouth in 1991 . His popularity rose a little later when he came into the Guinness Book of Records as the "fastest living rapper" with the song From da Tip of My Tongue thanks to his above-average rhymes .

In 1995 he moved to Atlantic Records . Four more albums (including two compilations under his sub-label Legit Ballin ' ) followed before the breakthrough in 2004 with Kamikaze . The album reached number 1 on the US Billboard charts and produced six successful singles, including hits such as Slow Jamz with Kanye West and Jamie Foxx and Sunshine with Anthony Hamilton .

The Day After was released in autumn 2005 . The album was created in collaboration with artists and producers such as Pharrell Williams , Snoop Dogg , Syleena Johnson , Lil 'Kim and Mariah Carey . Girl Tonite , Hit the Floor and So Lonely were released as singles, of which Girl Tonite was the most successful with a 14th place on the Billboard charts. In 2009 Twista released his album Category F5 , which reached number 8 on the Billboard charts.

On November 9, 2010, Twista released his eighth solo album entitled The Perfect Storm , which reached number 42 on the Billboard charts and could not build on the success of the previous albums.
