Duets: The Final Chapter (English for: Duets : The last chapter , also known as The Biggie Duets ) is the fourth and last studio album by the American rapper The Notorious BIG It was posthumously on December 20, 2005, more than eight years after the artist's death, released on the Bad Boy Records label. In the USA, the record was awarded platinum for more than one million copies sold .

Various recordings from The Notorious BIG were used for the songs on the album. Most of these come from songs from his three previous studio albums Ready to Die , Life After Death and Born Again . Biggie's verses were underlaid with new instrumentals and, as the title of the album suggests, supplemented by various guest contributions from various artists. These include Eminem , P. Diddy , Twista , Jay-Z , Faith Evans , Snoop Dogg , Ludacris , Nelly , The Game , Lil Wayne , 2Pac , Nas , Mary J. Blige , Mobb Deep , R. Kelly , Bob Marley and KoRn .

The beats on the album were produced by a variety of different producers. These include Eminem , Swizz Beatz , Danja , Jazze Pha , Just Blaze , Havoc and Scott Storch . In addition, eight songs contain samples of various songs from different musical genres.

Cover design

The album cover shows a black and red drawing of the rapper with a crown on his head. The background is white and the lettering The Notorious BIG and Duets The Final Chapter in black and red are in the top left of the picture.

Duets: The Final Chapter rose to number 55 in the German album charts at the beginning of 2006 and stayed in the top 100 for a total of nine weeks. In the US, the album debuted at number 3 and stayed in the charts for 20 weeks.

The songs Nasty Girl , which reached number 8 in Germany and stayed in the top 100 for 15 weeks, and Spit Your Game were released as singles from the album .

Sales figures and awards

In the United States, Duets: The Final Chapter was awarded a platinum record in 2006 for over one million sales , while the album also received a gold record in the United Kingdom in 2006 for over 100,000 sales.
