Slim Thug (born September 8, 1980 in Houston , Texas ; actually Stayve Jerome Thomas ) is an American rapper from Houston, Texas. He became known for his participation in the hit single "Still Tippin" by Mike Jones .
Career
Slim Thug began his career in the late 1990s with the Swishahouse label . Although he often works with rappers from the Swishahouse label , Slim Thug is no longer a member of the label himself. He is under contract with Geffen Records through the " Neptunes " label Star Trak Entertainment. He also has his own independent label, Boss Hogg Outlawz .
His debut album "Already Platinum" was released on July 12, 2005. It includes the singles "Like a Boss", "Three Kings", "I Ain't Heard of That" and "Incredible Feeling". His album came to number 2 on the US Billboard 200 album charts. Slim Thug calls himself the "Big Boss of the South" and the "Big Boss of the North" (The big boss of the north of Houston, Texas - the area where he grew up) .
In 2005 he had features on Gwen Stefani singles "Luxurious" , Beyonce's "Check on It" and LeToya Luckett's "All Eyes on Me" . He's also worked with rappers like 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Scarface. Jay-Z had a feature on his single "I Ain't Heard of That Remix".
He received an award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2006 for the best R'n'B video with Beyoncés for "Check on It".
