Jeremih Felton (* 17th July 1987 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American R & B - singer .

Life & Career

During his school days, Felton learned several instruments, but then went to university and studied engineering . The turnaround came only through participation in talent shows at the university. In 2007 he moved to Columbia College, where he began studying music. With a fellow student he recorded his first demo entitled My Ride and placed it on the local radio station Power 92 . The second recording, Birthday Sex , followed in October 2008 and became a hit on the station. In early 2009 he auditioned for LA Reid and was immediately signed by Def Jam . Birthday Sex was released as a single just two months later . The song became a hit and worked its way up to number 4 on the US charts. It even reached number one on the R&B charts. Two months later the debut album Jeremih was in the record stores. It debuted at # 1 on R&B albums and reached the top 10 on the official US album charts .
