Loud Records is an American music label that was founded in 1992 by Steve Rifkind in New York .

The hip-hop- oriented label had some hip-hop greats at its weddings such as Wu-Tang Clan , Big Punisher , Mobb Deep , Krayzie Bone , The Beatnuts , MOP , Tha Alkaholiks , Pete Rock , Lil 'Flip , Three 6 Mafia , Project Pat , Xzibit , Twista and Dead Prez under contract. Outside the genre, bands such as Megadeth were also worked on.

RCA Records was used as a distribution partner from 1992 to 1999 . Thereafter, the distribution was taken over from 1999 to 2002 by Columbia Records . The label was temporarily shut down in 2002. After the new owner Sony BMG revived the label in 2007, it was bought back by the founder and is now a subsidiary of Rifkind's new label SRC Records (Street Records Corporation) within the Universal Music Group . The first record deal of the new Loud Records was again with Wu-Tang Clan.
