Ceza

Ceza (born December 31, 1977 in Üsküdar / Istanbul ; Turkish "punishment"; bourgeois Bilgin Özçalkan ) is a Turkish rapper .

life and career

Ceza formed together with the Turkish rapper Dr. Fuchs (now only "Fuchs"), who also lives in Istanbul , the rap duo Nefret (Turkish: "hate"). Their collaboration began in 1998, from which the albums Meclis-i ala Istanbul and Anahtar emerged. The collaboration between the rap duo ended in 2003. The reasons for the separation were, on the one hand, the military service that Fuchs had to do and, on the other hand, the work on solo projects by Ceza and later by Fuchs. There has not yet been an official separation, but there will probably not be any further collaboration between the two artists.

Ceza has released four solo albums so far. The first album, Med-Cezir , was released in 2002, but only became really popular later. The song Med Cezir was released from this album . The second album Rapstar , with features by Ayben (Ceza's sister), Sahtiyan, Sagopa Kajmer , Dr. Fuchs, Fuat by Royal Bunker and Fjärde Världen (from Sweden), was released in 2004.

In 2005 Ceza, Fuat & Ayben took part in an advertising campaign for the confectionery brand "Rocco", which is why many of his enemies ridiculed him as "Lollipoplutscher" because he drives through Istanbul and licks lollipops. This also became the subject of the responding Disstracks by Sagopa Kajmer & his crew.

In 2005 there was a dispute with his producer and longtime friend Sagopa Kajmer. According to some statements, this "beef" occurred in the course of a Ceza concert in Europe when Ceza spoke several times on stage in a highly insulting tone about Sagopa Kajmer's religion. Sagopa Kajmer, who noticed this, broke off all contact with Ceza. Shortly afterwards, Ceza published a disstrack against Sagopa Kajmer, his then fiancé Kolera and his rap crew Kuvvetmira entitled "Mürekkep Doldurdum" in German: I refilled the ink. Shortly thereafter, Sagopa Kajmer released an EP with Kuvvetmira called "Distortion EP", consisting of 6 songs. It was written, produced, recorded, and finally published within a week.

In December 2005 the EP Feyz Al followed with three songs not represented on the upcoming album. In late summer 2006 he released his third album Yerli Plaka . The first single was the song of the same name Yerli Plaka . Further releases such as Fark Var and Sen Oyna Dilber followed in 2007.

Ceza can be heard on Eko Fresh's 2006 single Gheddo in a Turkish remix of the same name together with Killa Hakan , Azi Tek , Hande Yener and Eko.

On the studio album Yerli Plaka , released in 2006, Ceza worked with well-known artists such as Samy Deluxe , Afrob , Eko , Killa Hakan , Tech N9ne (USA) and Sezen Aksu .

In 2007 he appeared on the track Alem Olsun from the album Geladen und entsichert by Alpa Gun . At the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 , the rapper won the award for Best Turkish Act .

In 2009 Ceza appeared on Was Has SAV Da Vor? -EP by Kool Savas .

The fourth studio album entitled Onuncu Köy was released a year later .
