BG (born September 3, 1980 in New Orleans , Louisiana ; actually Christopher Dorsey ) is an American rapper .

Life

Dorsey grew up in New Orleans, got a contract with Cash Money Records at the age of 14 and released his first albums in the late 1990s, which became local hits. In 1999 the album Chopper City in the Ghetto followed , which was awarded platinum by the RIAA .

After a dispute with his label in 2002, he left it and founded his own label Choppa City at Koch Records . This was followed by Disstracks against his former colleague Baby (now Birdman) and against Lil Wayne (with whom he has now reconciled). He also had success with his new label, such as B. with his album The Heart Of Tha Streetz vol. 2 , which made it into the top 10 on the Billboard 200 . The album Too Hood to Be Hollywood was announced for the beginning of 2008 , but it was only released in December 2009.
