background

Big Boi told MTV News that he was about to finish his song Sumthin's Gotta Give when Lenny Kravitz told him Scott Storch wanted to meet him. As Sumthin's Gotta Give was ready, took Storch them off and played in his studio a song in the "lautesten volume" which Big Boi had ever heard, whereupon the latter with "Boy, give it to me." ( German "Boy, give me that. ") responded. Then he went to Atlanta and finished the song.

The song uses samples from The Systems You Are in My System and Back to Life (However Do You Want Me) from Soul II Soul .

criticism

Tom Breihan of Pitchfork Media had the opinion that the real "hero" of the song would be Scott Storch, who had never produced anything so hard. Andy Pareti of noripcord.com said Shutterbugg would be a perfect fit in clubs and named it one of the best two songs on his album alongside General Patton . Vodicka gift of tinymixtapes.com titled Shutterbugg among other things because of hard beats as one of aufhetzendsten songs he heard in years and suggested that it should be heard everywhere. PopMatters voted Shutterbugg at number seven of the best songs of 2010, and Rolling Stone at number 14.
