NBA 2K11 is a basketball sports simulation - game of the NBA 2K series , which by Visual Concepts developed by 2K Sports has been published. It was released on October 5, 2010 in the US and October 8 in Europe . The cover adorns the basketball star Michael Jordan , who appears in different ways in the game.

Gameplay

The game includes many new features, some of which incorporate cover star Michael Jordan . In the "Jordan Challenge", the player plays the ten most important games of his career. In "MJ: Creating a Legend" you start as Michael Jordan in his rookie season and lead him to his legendary status in any NBA team. However, this mode can only be played after the player has successfully completed all "Jordan Challenges". With the “My Jordans” feature, the player is rewarded for reaching milestones and successes with 40 different Air Jordan shoes , which, when worn, improve certain attributes. The "Jordan Challenge" mode is not available for the PlayStation 2 version.

The game also includes the possibility to play with some classic teams from the past, which can also be played in exhibition and association mode.

NBA 2K11 offers an improved presentation to make the game look even more realistic. For example, you can see the players getting off the bus before the game or warming up for the game. While Kevin Harlan and Clark Kellogg are reinstated as moderators, the ESPN reporter Doris Burke is the new Sideline reporter .

The already from NBA 2K10 known MyPlayer mode allows players to create their own player and play a whole career. Starting with the NBA drafts , the player fights his way from bank warmer to starter to acclaimed superstar and goes through press conferences, visits to the White House and signing advertising contracts. This mode is also not included in the Play Station 2 version.

The Gamezone website particularly praises the “extremely in-depth gameplay” and the “top-class presentation”, but complains that the controls are very training-intensive and “casual gamers can quickly be overwhelmed”. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions each received a very good 9.2 rating and were awarded the Gamezone Gameplay Award Gold .

Online leagues

For a deeper online experience, several NBA 2K online leagues have been created in recent years . The online players are grouped into leagues to simulate an entire NBA season. Each player takes on the role of the coach of a team and tries to lead his team to the top of the NBA against real opponents. In the meantime, the provision of online content has been discontinued.

More games in the series
