Kid Cudi
Kid Cudi (born January 30, 1984 in Cleveland , Ohio ; real name Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi ) is an American rapper and actor . In his music he especially mixes alternative rock , hip hop and trip hop elements.
biography
Cudi grew up in Cleveland and later moved to New York . In collaboration with the New York label 10. Deep Clothing , he released his first mixtape A KiD Named CuDi in July 2008 as a free download on the Internet. The rapper Wale took part as a guest musician . Through the work Kanye West became aware of Kid Cudi and signed him to his label GOOD Music .
In early September 2008, Cudi appeared at the side of Travis Barker and DJ AM at the MTV Video Music Awards . On the November 2008 released album 808s & Heartbreak by Kanye West he can be heard as a guest rapper on the track Welcome to Heartbreak and co-wrote Paranoid and the top 10 song Heartless .
His debut single Day 'n' Nite entered the top 5 of the charts in the USA and Great Britain in early 2009, and in Germany the song rose to number 13. The debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day was released in September of the same year . The album was produced by Plain Pat, Emile, Kanye West and Ratatat, among others . For the South Central Premium Upgrade of the video game Midnight Club: Los Angeles , Kid Cudi and Emile produced the piece Switchin Lanes . Also in 2009 he appeared on David Guetta's single Memories and Jay-Z's song Already Home . His second album Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was released on November 9, 2010.
From 2009 to 2011 he played the role of Domingo Dean in the US TV series How to Make It in America .
In 2010 Kid Cudi founded the alternative band WZRD together with producer Dot Da Genius . The inspiration for the name of the band comes from the song The Wizard by Black Sabbath .
On October 5th, the pre-release single Just What I Am (feat. King Chip) was released. The song can also be found on the album Indicud , which was released on April 12, 2013. Hits like Immortal and King Wizard can also be found on the album. At the end of February 2014 he released his album Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon . His album Speedin 'Bullet 2 Heaven was released in December 2015 , followed a year later, in December 2016, by Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin' . In June 2018 he released a collaboration album for the first time with his mentor Kanye West as Kids See Ghosts .
He played under his real name in various films. In Goodbye World he played the role of Lev Berkowitz and the character Benny in the movie Need for Speed .
