All of the Lights (dt. All the lights ) is a song of the American rapper and producer Kanye West , he with the R & B singer Rihanna and the rapper Kid Cudi has taken. The song was released as the fourth single on February 18, 2011 from West's fifth studio album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy . All of the Lights was written and produced by Jeff Bhasker, Malik Jones, Warren Trotte and Kanye West. West tweeted on his Twitter page that All of the Lights was the next single.

All of the Lights was written by Kanye West, Jeff Bhasker, Malik Jones and Warren Trotter. The song was produced by West and Bhasker (co-producer). The song features the following eleven musicians: Alicia Keys , John Legend , The-Dream , Drake , Fergie , DJ Joseph , Kid Cudi , Elton John , Ryan Leslie , Charlie Wilson , Tony Williams, Elly Jackson , Alvin Fields, Ken Lewis and Rihanna singing the chorus. During an interview with MTV , Jackson explained the make-up of the musicians in the song.
"He got me to layer up all these vocals with other people, and he just basically wanted to use his favorite vocalists from around the world to create this really unique vocal texture on his record, but it's not the kind of thing where you can pick it out "
Critical reception
Allmusic's Andy Kellman commented on the song:
"At once, the song features one of the year's most rugged beats while supplying enough opulent detail to make Late Registration collaborator Jon Brion's head spin."
Alex Denney from NME called the song "the sleb-studded centrepiece" and said:
"In anyone else's hands it'd be an A-list circle-jerk of horrid proportions, but through Kanye's bar-raising vision it becomes a truly wondrous thing."
Zach Baron of The Village Voice found the text relevant to the current economic situation. Kitty Empire of The Guardian the song cited as "the album's most magnificent high" (dt. The absolute highlight of the album ), and writes "backs up operatic levels of sound with great drama" (dt. Combines operatic sounds with a wonderful action ).
Music video
The music video for All of the Lights was shot in January 2011 by director Hype Williams . Different scenes with Rihanna, West and Kid Cudi are shown, which merge into one another in the flash. In the video, Rihanna is wearing black underwear with adhesive tape on her chest. Your body is shown in profile. The other scenes from the music video are a reference to Gaspar Noé's film Enter the Void from 2009. The music video had its world premiere on February 19, 2011 on West's Vevo channel.

While All of the Lights only made it to places 53, 68 and 46 in countries like Canada , Austria or Switzerland , the song made it to places 3, 13 in Belgium (Wallonia) , New Zealand , Scotland and the United Kingdom , 14 and 15. in Ireland achieved All of the Lights No. 18 and in Australia place 24th
