Just Stand Up! is a song by the all-star charity group Artists Stand Up to Cancer , consisting of pop , R&B , rock and country artists. The live version was broadcast during the Stand Up to Cancer charity marathon .

The American songwriter and producer Antonio "LA" Reid conceived the song after meeting the founders of Stand Up to Cancer. The song was written by the American singer Babyface and Ronnie Walton. Reid co-produced the track with Babyface. This marked the first collaboration between the two in almost 20 years.

The single was released on August 21, 2008 as a download and contains both the studio and the live version.

The singers sang the song live at the "Stand Up to Cancer" fundraising marathon, which was simultaneously broadcast on US television stations ABC , CBS and NBC on September 5, 2008. All of the original artists appeared to perform, with the exception of LeAnn Rimes , Sheryl Crow, and Melissa Etheridge . In support, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls sang vocal parts by Sheryl Crow. The live performance is slightly different from the original song and is included on the single. The live music video is available on iTunes.

The single was released again on September 30, 2008, with the original recording as well as the version of the live performance available. There is also a video of the live recording on the CD.

On October 15, 2010, the RIAA awarded the song double platinum and the live music video gold.

The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 78 in the week of September 13, 2008. The next week, the song had its biggest sales, jumping 67 spots to number 11. The next week, the song dropped to number 36 . In the UK single charts , the piece debuted at number 26, before finally reaching the top of the chart. In the Canadian Hot 100 , he started at number 10 in the week of September 11, 2008.
