Work It Out is a funk and rap song by R&B singer Beyoncé for the soundtrack to the film Austin Powers in Goldmember from 2002, in which Beyoncé plays a leading role. The song was written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo and released as a single in June 2002. It didn't get on the Billboard Hot 100 . However, it reached number 11 in the "Hot Dance Club Play" charts. Only in Great Britain (7th place) and Norway (3rd place) did the title make it into the top 10. The music video was directed by Matthew Rolston . The song was later included on Beyoncé's debut album Dangerously in Love .
