Charles "Chad" Hugo (born February 24, 1974 in Portsmouth , Virginia ) is an American music producer .
Life and accomplishments
Hugo, a Filipino-American and the son of a US Navy officer , grew up in Virginia Beach . He met Pharrell Williams when both were participants in a program for gifted students.
Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams make up the production team The Neptunes , which works with Mariah Carey , Jay-Z , Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake , among others . He is also a member of the NERD group . He also works with Sony BMG Music Entertainment .
In August 2002, his team The Neptunes received during the ceremonies of prices The Source Awards and Billboard Music Award the title of Producer of the Year ( Producers of the Year ).
