On the Run Tour (2014)

The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour was the fifth world tour by the singer Beyoncé . The tour is promoting their studio albums 4 and Beyoncé . Beyoncé opened the tour on April 15, 2013 in Belgrade , Serbia and ended the tour on March 27, 2014 in Lisbon , Portugal .

background

The tour was announced after Knowle's appearance on the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show . The tour's name is a reference to Knowle's marriage to Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter .

The two planned concerts in Germany in Munich and Berlin were sold out within 20 minutes, so Knowles decided to give an additional concert in Berlin.

During the concerts, Knowles is supported by nine dancers. As on their I Am… tour , the band The Mamas takes on the role of background singers . Furthermore, she is supported in some dance interludes by the two street dancers Les Twins . Between the songs, various video clips from Knowles appear on a large LED wall. In addition to the main stage, a second stage, the so-called B stage , is used. This is located in the back third of the standing room. During the show, Knowles hovers over the audience on this stage by rope and sings her songs Irreplaceable , Love on Top and Survivor .

Most of the clothes and costumes used during the tour come from the Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci .

The first of two concerts in Antwerp on May 14, 2013 had to be canceled for health reasons . This was made up for on May 31, 2013.

On June 24th 2013 new tour dates were published on Knowles website. This included a second tour section in the USA, due to the overwhelming demand for their first tour, and a second tour section in South America with several appearances in stadiums in Brazil. On July 7th, 13 new concert dates were announced in Australia and New Zealand. The concert in Auckland is Knowle's first solo performance in New Zealand .
