Black Entertainment Television ( BET ) is an American television station. BET was founded in 1980 by Robert L. Johnson .
The target group are mainly young African-Americans . The program consists largely of music videos of styles of hip-hop , soul and R & B as well as movies, shows and series. Well known are the BET Awards , which are presented by the broadcaster.
