The Ziggo Dome is an event hall in the Zuidoost district of the Dutch capital, Amsterdam . The namesake is the Dutch cable operator Ziggo , a subsidiary of Liberty Global . The arena is mainly used as a concert hall and offers a maximum of 17,000 seats. The building is in close proximity to the Amsterdam Arena football stadium , where Ajax Amsterdam welcomes its opponents to the games.
The Dutch singer Marco Borsato was the first artist to give a concert for the inauguration of the arena on June 24, 2012. Two days later, the American grunge band Pearl Jam was the first foreign artist to perform in the Ziggo Dome. They were followed by numerous national and international artists and bands.
The MTV Europe Music Awards for the 20th anniversary of the event took place in the hall on November 10, 2013 .
From 2016 to 2019 the final of the Korfbal League , the highest korfball division in the Netherlands, was held in the Ziggo Dome. Before that, the event took place at Ahoy Rotterdam for over 30 years . From 2020 the final will return to Rotterdam. The Korfbalbond KNKV signed a new five-year contract with the Ahoy operators.

Regular events
Since 2018, the WOW WOW of the Dutch organizer Q-Dance has taken place in the Ziggo Dome every New Year's Eve . The Qapital event also takes place there every year. This is also an event of the organizer Q-Dance.
